EXTANG TONNOS

Which Tonno is best for your truck will depend on how much money you want to spend and how you intend to use your truck.  If you are on a limited budget or don't use your truck bed frequently then we recommend a basic snap-fit  tonno such as the BlackMax from our Extang range - this range (despite its name) is available in a range of popular colors and a snug, tailored fit for most late model pickups.  Click Here for details

These snap-stud tonnos are straightforward to install & remove and can be un-snapped and rolled up out of the way whilst the bed is in use. However  these basic snap-stud tonnos can be quite time consuming to re-attach, due to sheer number of snap studs, especially in cold spells.  So if you need to open the cover up more frequently,  we suggest a  peel off cover like the Extang Sabre or Extang Tuff Tonno .One other solution to this problem is to choose an Extang Full Tilt Tonno which  opens up like a bed lid.

These less expensive styles of tonno include removeable aluminium bows or supports which fit across the tonno frame to keep the tonno taut whilst driving and allow rainwater to drain off easily. To fully access the truck bed you have to remove these bows which is usually easily done, but can sometimes be inconvenient and can cause a problem on where to store the bows whilst the cover is open.  So if you're hauling bulky loads or need to open the cover frequently then we recommend one of our ROLL UP TONNOS. In this type of tonno the  supports are an integral part of the cover and can simply be rolled up along with the tonno material - no fiddling about or worries about losing the supports en-route! These tonnos are closed and tensioned by just locking down the rear-most rail, the side rails being sealed down with special Velcro closures.
